A simple fix for the specific issue you mentioned is to stop sharing your screen for however long you want, while still staying in the meeting. You can then turn it back on whenever you’d like.

Having said that, I’ve heard this request a few times now, and we will likely get to this soon. But I am curious whether the workaround would work for you for the time being.



This issue was my immediate though as well. I was expecting a dialog saying that a user was requesting control, asking if I would allow it. A simple toggle for allowing others to take control would perhaps work too.


Honestly, no, since that is not fail-safe. Ideally remote control could be set to be disabled by default. Until that feature is available I'll probably continue to use Zoom screen sharing.


Sounds like this isn't the app for you then... The whole purpose of this app is working with someone else on the same screen. Why should you have to turn on a feature that is the purpose of the app?


That might well be the case, in which case I'll keep using something else.

Suggesting the "whole purpose" of an app that does video, audio and screen sharing is to let someone else control your computer seems strange though - it's one of many features, not a purpose in and of itself.
