Ask HN: Tips for reading papers when in a hurry?
1 point by boredemployee on Nov 14, 2022 | hide | past | favorite | 2 comments
I have to read lots of papers (CS field) in a really short period of time, any tips are appreciated. Thanks

I don't read CS papers, but the standard practice I use is to read the abstract, and then skip to the discussion at the end. You can usually get 80% of what you want to know just by skimming these sections. At least, this is my experience in reading medical papers.

That's a good tip. Maybe I'll try that and include reading algorithms when necessary. Thanks
