Apple PC/Laptop hardware far exceeds that of Dell.

The M series chips are relatively unique in the market right now. Being able to do real work for several hours on battery is quite impressive. Hopefully that carries over to a linux install.

Because then the hardware wouldn't be as good.

But the real answer is, why not?
