Hanlons razer : Never attribute to malice that which is adequately explained by stupidity. Many wish there was at least malice because then there is a narrative, the reality is probably much more muddled and messy.

Hanlons razor has limits, as exemplified by declassified CIA etc horrors over the decades among other things.

Capital incentives make people behave like animals, and even well intentioned ones are often coerced by said animals else face the ultimate price.
