I wrote a comment here and then thought twice about posting it because I don’t want to end up being on some list as a privacy advocate.

But then I thought about the implications of that choice to delete it. And here I am posting this instead, probably to the same end. But it’s a different message about self censorship.


Matters are already out of hand if a list of privacy advocates is treated similarly to a list of gang members or other dangerous criminals. Even the latter is dangerous if they are used indiscriminately without sufficient safeguards against abuse.


I'll take the hit. I want to be on some list as a privacy advocate.


I don't think this matters, Meta is open about it yet investors still flock in for profit
