Not to mention, old Twitter effectively made an illegal campaign contribution and interfered in the election by banning the President under a flimsy pretense.

Now people can actually discuss things on Twitter freely and in an intellectually honest way. Free speech is a threat to the author and presumably Jacobin’s readers, and the article therefore tries to construct a convoluted argument by highlighting other things like optimizing revenue or “enshittification”. These may indeed be real issues but they’re certainly not unique to Twitter.
